Joomla Search Engine Simulator Plugin

Before We Begin...

Before getting started, make sure you have BOTH the Web Design and Company Search Engine Simulator plugin for Joomla as well as the Tester Plugin. The tester is available for everyone on our downloads page, and we recommend that you install it before purchasing the Search Engine Simulator Plugin, since not all servers have the PHP Tidy library enabled by default. Also, make sure you have Joomla installed correctly. If you don't have Joomla, you can download it here.

Step 1

Log into the administration panel of your Joomla installation by adding /administrator/ to the end of the Joomla installation's homepage URL.

Once there, navigate to Extensions >> Manage.

Step 2

Select Choose File and choose the tester plugin .zip file that you downloaded from our site for free.

Note: If you know that your server environment supports PHP Tidy already, you don't have to install it. If you are unsure, please install it first to make sure PHP Tidy is activated.

Click "Upload & Install".

Step 3

Next, navigate to "Manage", in the sidebar after the success message shows up with directions. You can follow the directions outlined there or continue here.

Step 4

Search for "SEO" to narrow the results and then click the red "X" icon to activate the plugin you just installed.

Step 5

View your site homepage and look at the URL in the address bar inside your browser.

Add ?seo=0 to the end of the url and hit enter. If nothing happens, check that the plugin was installed and activated correctly and try again.

If you see All good! show up on a blank screen, you have PHP Tidy installed and you can install the Search Engine Simulator plugin. If you see Oh no, you don't have PHP Tidy installed! then you need to contact your web hosting provider and ask them to enable the PHP Tidy library before you purchase and install the Search Engine Simulator Plugin.

Step 6

To install the Search Engine Simulator Plugin, follow the same steps outlined above using the purchased plugin instead of the tester. To view a page using the Search Engine Simulator, append ?seo=1 to the end of your url. Note the number. For testing using the tester, it's 0; for development using the paid plugin, it's 1.

That's It!

You're finished installing the plugin and simulating a page view using it. If you have any problems with the plugin, see errors, or are unsure how to use the plugin, drop us a line using our contact page and we would be happy to help you out.
