Web Design and Company’s Scholarship Essay Contest

The Web Design and Company Team are well aware of the huge expense related to higher education, with many of us having been involved in it ourselves. While tuition at colleges and universities continues to rise, students and their families are often left with significant financial responsibilities to overcome. To assist students passionate about pursuing a degree in web design or development, Web Design and Company is proud to sponsor an annual $1,100 college scholarship essay contest. Details about the contest and how to apply are below.

Web Design Essay Eligibility Requirements

In order to participate in the scholarship contest, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be currently attending or planning to attend a college or university during the 2019-2020 academic year.
  • Must be in good academic standing with your current educational institution
  • For applicants under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian
  • Must apply to the contest via email and provide your name and the name of the institution you are attending or plan to attend
  • Must provide your essay (PDF or Word format preferred) by the deadline of 07/25/2019.

Essay Topic: How Web Design has Changed Over The Years, and What to Expect in 2019.

To qualify, students must be either finishing their last year of high school or in an undergraduate/graduate institution, who demonstrates a way to effectively communicate what has changed in the web design industry over the years, and what changes to expect in 2019 and beyond. In order to participate in the essay contest, applicants must present an 800-2500 word essay discussing the following issue:

The history of Web Design and how it will change in the future.

Web design has involved into its own industry after a very short period and is now looked at as a deciding factor in whether some businesses succeed or fail online. It has also taken many forms, and evolved in many ways. Your essay should detail this history, and what the deciding changes will be in the future.

Deadline to apply for this scholarships is 07/25/2019 at 9AM CST. Once the application period closes, we will review all submissions and determine a winner based on the following factors:

Essay must not be less than 800-words, but can be as long as 2500 words if needed to effectively explain your ideas.

Essay will be graded and judged based on the following factors:

  • Creativity
  • Originality
  • Feasibility
  • The applicant’s demonstrated potential for success in the design or development field

Please note that the scholarship check will be issued directly to the winner’s university/college.
