I have always had many interests and have had a hard time picking just one thing to do. When I'm not working, I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and camping, travel, art, music, horticulture, and spending time with my dog and my family. I hold two bachelors degrees, and my professional career so far has included writing, managing small businesses in the wellness and food service industries, teaching art, and managing social media for small businesses. With WDAC I have found a role and a company that feels perfectly tailored to me. Here, I get to wear different hats and am allowed to exercise both my analytical and creative sides.

When it comes to work, I enjoy a challenge, thrive in high-pressure situations, and have an insatiable thirst to constantly learn and improve. I enjoy speaking to clients and potential clients about their needs, experiences, and goals. I use that information to develop an authentic voice and effective and attractive visuals. While managing several different projects at once, my obsessive use of my planner, calendars, notes, spreadsheets, and other organizational devices comes quite in handy.

At WDAC, I am surrounded by a team of people who are very skilled at what they do. It's truly gratifying to be in the company of intelligent, hard working people who won't accept less than the best from themselves or from others. I have always held myself to a high standard and it makes such a huge difference to have the support of an organization with values that align with my own. We care about each individual client and giving them the best.

Nickname

I've always wanted a nickname, but one never came to me organically. Growing up, my family would call me "Maya-chan" or "Emi-chan," "chan" being the traditional Japanese way to address a young person (specifically a girl) and Emi coming from my middle name, Emiko.
