WordPress Schema Plugin

Schema Plugin for WordPress

You may not know this, but we work on websites a lot (and optimize them too!), and often a part of that involves adding schema (commonly called rich snippet data) to websites.

What is schema data you ask, and what is the magic within? Great question, and here is a great answer:

What is Schema data or Rich Snippet markup?

Schema.org is the result of collaboration between Google, Bing, Yandex, and Yahoo! to help you provide the information their search engines need to understand your content and provide the best search results possible at this time. Adding Schema markup to your HTML improves the way your page displays in SERPs by enhancing the rich snippets that are displayed beneath the page title. Source: Moz

Types of items described by Schema: Structured data can be used to mark up all kinds of items from products to events to recipes. It is most often used to provide additional information about the following:

  • Creative work
  • Event
  • Organization
  • Person
  • Place
  • Product

Now that you know what schema data is, we would like to introduce you to a plugin that we have found that allows you to add "LocalBusiness" schema data to your site easily. Schema Factory is a simple schema plugin for WordPress that allows you to add schema markup to your site in minutes. Normally, we don't make blog posts over such a thing, but it works as advertised!
