WordPress Content Generator Plugin

Before We Begin...

Before getting started, make sure you have the Web Design and Company Content Generator plugin for WordPress. The Free version is available for everyone on our downloads page. Also, make sure you have WordPress installed correctly as this tutorial doesn't cover it's installation. If you don't have WordPress, you can download it here.

Step 1

Log into the administration panel of your Wordpress installation by adding /wp-admin/ to the end of the homepage URL.

Once there, Plugins >> Add New (note: this can also be used on Pages)

At the top of the page, click "Upload Plugin."

It should now tell you that the plugin was installed successfully. Click the "Activate Plugin" link.

Step 2

After activation, go to Posts >> Add New

Add a title of your choosing and then type or paste your article inside the text area. When you come to a word or phrase you would like to randomize, add the [gen] tag, type your items (separated by "|" piping), and end it with a closing [/gen] tag.

It should look something like this:
My [gen]dog|cat|pig[/gen] is my[gen]best friend|friend|nemesis[/gen].

Click Publish to save

Step 3

Lastly, go to your site front page and check out the post you just created. If done correctly, all the tags should be gone and the content should randomly change on each page load.

That's It!

You're finished creating an article with generated content! If for some reason the [gen] tags still appear, please go to wp-admin >> Settings >> Content Generator and read the "Limitations" heading at the top of the page.

If you can't find the Content Generator page in Settings, the plugin isn't activated. Go to wp-admin >> Plugins and click the "Activate" link on the Content Generator plugin.
